The Nußbaumer company had to struggle for a long time with the consequences of poor air conditions in its sheepfold. Too little oxygen, too much ammonia and other harmful gases led to health problems for the sheep, which were kept on straw in the generally very beautiful and attractive stable.

With the vet.smart.tubes for sheep and goats, the Nußbaumer family found the optimal solution to the problems in 2018. Fresh air is now precisely pumped into the stable all year round in such a way that the animals do not feel any drafts and are still constantly surrounded by fresh, good outside air. Harmful gases no longer have a chance to linger in the stable and are constantly pushed out of the stable. 

This means that the Nußbaumer family and the sheep in the stable can breathe deeply again. Since then, health problems with the respiratory tract have become a thing of the past and the company managers can use the time they have gained to devote themselves to other issues.

We are proud to present our first technology export to Portugal. In southern countries, global warming is already a problem when it comes to keeping animals in stables. VET.SMART offers the opportunity not only to distribute fresh air precisely in the stable, but is also able to cool the fresh air. 

At the location of the sheepfolds in Portugal, the climatic conditions range from 0°C in winter to over 40°C in summer. What is needed here is ventilation systems that ensure draft-free air exchange in winter that is not noticeable to the animals, as well as cooling systems that ensure additional cooling for the animals in summer. Here, fresh air is in, harmful gases and exhaust air are out. With our customer Jerónimo Martins/ Ovinos Tapadas we are implementing our first project in Portugal and delivering 12 large tubes for 3 stables. 

It should also be noted that we only need 6 fans for the largest of the stables (5000 sheep, 100 m long, 40 m wide). If other ventilation systems were used, approximately 4 - 5 times as many fans and therefore energy would be required. With our vet.smart.tubes we support our customers in their goal of completely avoiding antibiotics.
